Welcome to the website for the Marseilles Area Society for Homebrewing. We are a club of homebrewing enthusiasts from the Illinois River Valley area.
Established in 2009, we meet monthly on the second Friday to share and compare our homebrew recipes, techniques, and of course to sample each others creations.
Stayed tuned to our website for upcoming events and if interested in joining, stop in to experience the wonders of home brewed beer as our guest.
American Homebrewers Association Rally at the Goose Island Brewery
Please pass this on to members of your homebrew club:
Just a heads-up that there will be an American Homebrewers Association Rally at the Goose Island Brewery in Chicago on July 30th, 2010. This will actually be at their main production brewery, which is a pretty amazing facility. While the full details have yet to be published I thought I should let folks know asap so they can plan accordingly (I think there will be more details on the web site in the coming week). You can RSVP at http://www.homebrewersassociation.org/pages/events/event-list/show?title=goose-island-beer-company-aha-rally which also shows the full address and times of the event. I hope we will see you in Chicago!

Three Floyds vs. Stone Brewing "Brawl to Settle It All"
Three Floyds is ranked the #1 brewery in the world by Ratebeer.com. The folks over at Beer Advocate have proclaimed Stone Brewing the #1 brewery on the planet. If we used a computer to determine an ultimate ranking, craft brewing would be no better than college football.
Lucky, this is a friendly rivalry and the winner will be decided by folks like you. On July 17 at the Tribes Alehouse in Mokena (11220 W. Lincoln Hwy., 815-464-0248) representatives from both breweries will be bringing out six of their best selections each in a judged tasting to determine a true winner between the two. the winning brewery will also receive a "Championship belt" to hang at their respective brewery.
Tickets to the event are available now. Cost is $30; designated drivers get in for free but must register.
